Liberty and Justice for All

A quick post on the day before Independence Day. I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “Liberty and Justice for All.” Of course you are. It’s a phrase included in the Pledge of Allegiance.

“Liberty and justice for all.” While this is an incredible thought politically, socially, and nationally. It is impossible to experience spiritually. Why?

Spiritually speaking, you cannot experience liberty and justice at the same time. Spiritually speaking, you cannot have judgment and freedom simultaneously. That’s why the gospel is so amazing.

Jesus endured God’s justice so that we might experience God’s liberty.

Christ endured God’s just wrath against sin upon the cross. So that we might experience God’s free grace through salvation. Jesus took our justice so that we might receive liberty. And “if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
