Another Perdue Baby

It’s official. I now have a daughter…I mean, WE now have a daughter. We left our house about 12:55 AM this morning and arrived at the hospital by 1:20 AM. A little over 30 minutes later, at 1:54 AM, Anna Katherine Perdue was born!

We are so excited to have our baby girl! As you can imagine, we’re very tired and want some rest, but we are certainly excited about our new addition!

Here’s a picture for your viewing pleasure…

(Might I add that this picture was taken at about 3:00 in the morning and Stephanie looks absolutely incredible!)

Baby stuff…

Okay, I’ll admit it…I thought about titling this post “The Baby is Here” and then writing April Fool’s in this secion. But, I think that would have been cruel and heartless. My family and friends might have read it and hated me. Or worse, Stephanie could have read it and been really confused. We don’t want her to read my blog and think there are any other babies I’m waiting on!!!

So, here’s what I’ll do instead: I’m taking predictions on when our baby girl will arrive. ( Just in case you’re wondering, we STILL do not have a name for her but we are thinking and praying hard!) The due date is April 16th but my prediction is April 12th, what’s yours?

My wife is amazing!

God is so good to me! I’m just going to be honest with you; I have an amazing wife. She is blessed to be able to stay home with our kids and she loves it. She is 36 weeks pregnant with our third baby (this one’s a girl) and we have a three year old and a one year old already. Talk about busy!

It’s incredible how she loves our kids, trains them to obey and teaches them the Word of God. I would put her hours of work in any given week up against anybody else’s schedule. She is such a hard worker, always pleasant, giving and loving. She never complains, never wants to do something else and always seeks to be a better mom and wife.

God has given me many gifts in my life, but there’s no doubt that after my salvation she is at the top of the list. Proverbs 31:10 says, “An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.”

Stephanie, I love you and I thank God for you!

Let it snow…

Well, there was no White Christmas in Brighton this year, but it looks like we could have a White Easter (not really but close). I guess it has snowed a few inches here this afternoon and evening. How about that…it’s March and it’s snowing. Here are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment.

Here’s a picture of me and the boys just outside the front porch. If you notice Jake’s face, the wind was blowing extremely hard and it felt more like a blizzard!

I thought this one would give you a good view of the front yard and a bit of the neighborhood. I know it’s just a few feet, but that walk across the front yard in a blinding blizzard seemed like a trek to the top of Mt. Everest (a little exaggeration here certainly intended).

Is it March already?

My how time flies! It seemed like 2008 just rolled around this morning. It’s hard to believe that it’s March already. Don’t get me wrong, I love the month of March. Spring pushes winter off the calendar, Stephanie has a birthday and I have a spiritual birthday as well (it will be 19 years this month since I accepted Christ).

But, with March rapidly approaching that means April is just around the corner. And when April comes, so does a new baby! We’ve been through this a couple of times already so we know that the fun really begins once the baby arrives. The truth is though, we’ve never been through this when we already had two other children to take care of as well.

We are so excited about our baby girl on the way. Truth be told, at times I’m a bit nervous. I know it will be busy and it will be a big adjustment, but it will be more than worth it. And, by the way, Stephanie is an INCREDIBLE mom and she’ll have this “three-kid” thing down in no time. As long as I do what she says, we’ll be doing just fine.

So, here’s to another month that’s come and gone (February), and another year that is flying by (2008) and another baby on the way (no name baby girl). Life is sweet!
